Refitting seats

Looking to buy a set of pre 2004 seats (the soft and wider model) and mount them on my 2004 model (the one with 2 headlights) instead of harder an more narrow org. Seat.

But what is the differens of these seats and have do i make them fit my bike.

Please pictures of the difference and what to rebuild on the older seat to fit the newer bike

I don't have both pair of seats to compare ?
