Sorry for writing in english, my German is writing is not very good

But reading German is okay, so fine to answer in German

I was like many others stupid to put Avon Storm 3D tyres on my 2004 LT.

What a crappy tyre, very short into last season, the front tyres was totally wracked all bumpy and ■

The rear tyre after the season, is also done

As i can read here and other forums, theese tyres where not good on this bike.

So this season new tyres, but what to buy ?

The almost only tyres left, is the Bridgstone BT020 is it still the best option for the big ship ? (Dont want Meztler)

Or any good recommandations ?

Just the new Metzeler, ME 888.
I tryed this tire on my LT, is ok with a long lifetime.
Is for the rear only. Up front you use the ME 880

In Herzogenrath/Kohlscheid im TPH haben die gute Reifenmonteure und Preise.

Ich habe jedenfalls seit Donnerstag letzter Woche vorne und hinten wieder neue Bridgestone drauf. Bringen mich sehr lange und vor allem bei allen Wettern sicherer als der Metzeler zu meinen Zielen; aber das ist ja, wie wir wissen, eine Glaubensfrage.

Hallo Peter, schwöre ebenfalls auf BT und sind soeben neu aufgezogen worden.

Beim ME888 für hinten wäre interessant zu "erfahren", inwiefern sich etwas zum ME880 geändert hat. Eventuell kann hierzu jemand schon seine Erfahrung einbringen.

Vllt. sollte dem Haug doch jemand mit einer genaueren "Alternative" zum Metzler helfen - hat er nicht explizit erwähnt, er mag speziell Metzler nicht?

Kann selbst nicht mit Erfahrung dienen; meine LT bekomme ich erst ca. Anf./Mitte Mai (bisher R 1100 RT)

Wie Haug schreibt (fragt), ist der BT 020 noch immer die beste Option. Mehr Alternativen dazu, als eventuell mal den neuen ME 888 zu probieren gibt es für die LT eben nicht.

Der AVON hat sich nicht bewährt, hat er selber festgestellt.

Not here for some time, sorry.

Here in Denmark there's not the same restrictions to be on the same "type" of tyre front and rear. So for the rear tyre still only a few RF tyres to put on.

On my bike a 2004 (the newer model) the Avon rear tyre was not biggest problem. It is the front tyre that sucks.

So i am right now in the thinking box on what new front tyre to buy, for my trip to Austria in June.

Looking on these for the moment.

Metzeler Roadtec 01 (new model for this year)
Michelin pilot road GT4 (New model)
Dunlop Roadsmart 3 (New model for this year) Dunlop says up to 80% better (longer) tyre wear over the other brands

It can only be better than the Avon front tyre
